How important are looks to a girl????

i have always have a hard time getting a girl and i always think its because how i look your something i have no problems talking to girls im not shy or anything and i never act or say stupid things when i do talk to a girl but im wondering if looks have something to with why im not getting one im not fat im in good shape and i keep my hair short and my face shaven only having a short cut goat-t i want to no is it my looks getting me or what? please girls answer only
