If the law of Moses spoke of the Messiah, why didnt the Saducees and/or Pharasees believe in Jesus?
They believed in the Old Testament. Jesus wasn't born until the New Testament and although He was the Living Word and could perform miracles, many rejected him as the Son of God. They pretty much had their religious traditions in place. They envied the fact that He could perform miracles and that in itself was causing people to reject their ideas and cling to Jesus as truth. Their profits and tithes were starting to dwindle. Jesus and the disciples didn't go with begging bags and scripts. The Sadducees and Pharisees had legalists and scripture lawyers. The bible said they sit in the seat of Moses (the lawgiver) and pretend that they are the authority on the law. Jesus said he came not to do away with the Old Testament but to fulfill it. They still rejected him basically out of envy. The miracle of the fish and the loaves were warning people of the (fragments) doctrines of the Sadducees and Pharisees. The add on to the laws of the bible as they see fit. The Mormons and the Jehovah Witnesses are the Sadducees and the Pharisees of today.
