Heaven is to be inhabited in part by 144,000 virgin men who have not been "defiled" by women?

144,000 virgin men? All I can picture is the nerds from high school with the pocket protectors and Dungeons and Dragons books. The more I learn the happier I am that I am not allowed to go to heaven.
