Is there still much hazing for those wanting to join a frat?

College starts on Monday and I'm thinking about joining a frat. I've also heard that they will haze the rookies and make them do '' acts. I want to know if this is true. If it is then I'm not joining. I'm closer to 30 than 20 and feel like I already earned my stripes.
