More re: rooftop antenna for og TV?

Thanks for the great advice, New Life. So, to drill into the closet area,(which is right by the TV ), from the side of the house, can I actually drill right through the aluminum siding and then use a silicone sealant? What about the area under the siding... won't leaks happen at that point since I can't seal it, too? What about hitting something important as I drill...like something electrical or a pipe? I suppose it's unlkely that there would be anything in the wall right at that point, just below the roof on the 2nd story where there is only a wall with no windows, on the side of the house, but I'm not sure. The current ruined wire from the antenna is round coax. As far as the splitter goes, I've only seen the ones used on the inside or in the wall. Is there a type for outside...and why would you put it outside? What are stand-offs for running the wire from the antenna down the roof to the side wall, and how do you attach them? Thank you, again.
