Beard/ stubble trimmer?

ok so i bought this iclip automatic for my husband... as the word trimmer was in it... thinking it was the right thing for trimming his bit of stubble/beard. he likes the not so clean shaven thing at the moment so im letting him do that... but getting the thing out... i think its only for hair????!!! Am i right??? Confused woman needs help! lol
