Does Rachael Maddow really believe Fox News "controls" the Federal Government?

I watch about 3 minutes of her show on MSBC Tuesday. She was discussing (ranting) the Shirley Sherrod situation. Her statement was about Fox News broadcasting the story early. Then the gov't quickly fired Sherrod (she also mentioned something about Fox exposing ACORN as well). She claimed Fox News to be manipulating or controlling the gov't in some manner. Really? If all it takes is a news broadcast for the gov't to make a quick, knee-jerk reaction, then we really have a weak and pathetic gov't. And in maybe those 3 minutes, Maddow said "Fox News" about a dozen times.
